Wheel bearing cause axle seal leak?

Is it possible for a bad wheel bearing to cause a leaky axle seal in the front? I've heard of it being the cause for rear axle seal leaks, but not sure about the front.

Replaced front axle seal when did the ECGS bushing a few weeks ago but the new seal is leaking just like my old one was. Barely leaking, hasnt even dripped onto the ground just the slightest bit of gear oil coming down the diff.

Wheel bearing isnt terrible but has def been going out for a little while now. Now that I think of it wheel bearing and leak started around the same time (before I replaced the axle seal and did the ECGS bushing). Wondering if i should replace the axle seal again when I do the wheel bearing this weekend. Or save myself the effort if the new wheel bearing might possibly be the fix for the leak.

Wheel seal leaking again and again and again

I will certainly check the breather again, all I saw the last time was a screwed in fitting and a hole with a bent rubber tube attached to the fitting. Is there something else than a hole as for breather?

I presume the shop checked it too, they paid for the seals and sleeves and the work the last time. Would it be because they are not competent? They change seals on big trucks, they would know how to do it by now.

What gets me is the fact that it allways leak on both side, I could see that one side is allways leaking if it would be the runout or wear on one shaft, but both wheel?

It was not leakin prior to the first replacement of the seals one year ago. The last seal that was installed is the one I got from Spicer. It is a W20HH100. On the seal it says it is a CR35000.

What would be the part number for a unitized seal?

On the bold - that would make me look hard at the vent. Seeing as pressure is equal in all directions, a plugged vent, resulting in a pressure build up, should cause both seals to leak.

The axle runout idea was literally a last gasp at what could be causing this. As has been said before, it's just a seal. There are literally billions of them installed on everything from vacuum cleaners to large truck that work every day. Why yours is such an issue, especially after so many repair attempts, it a mystery.

With the leaking on both sides I'd think the vent would be about the only thing in the entire system that could cause them both to leak at the same time.

There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.
