I found this game from an ad that was shown in the middle of a Backgammon game I play. I liked it so much I immediately paid to remove ads between rounds. There are still voluntary ads you can watch to double your prize money/gems/etc but I skip those. Once you figure out the “physics” of the game, you can become quite good rapidaly. Within 24 hours (like most, I assume), I’d already made it to the top arena “Heaven”.
Improvements: I’d like to see the developer add a little more variability into the game play like perhaps wind impacts, or earthquakes shifting the vertical levels … basically anything that made the game just a bit more challenging.
And like many have said on Reddit, the developers should have us all playing each other (real humans), not the made up (too easy) AI opponents in the game. Still, I can’t quit playing this. Great stress reliever at the end of the day.You can find more information on our web, so please take a look.
Great fun and a lot of laughs at first when you see your competition with an arrow in between their eyes or an ax sticking out of their chest. Most of the locations have about four set positions that never change and you quickly memorize the angle needed to get a headshot every single time. This made me quickly realize that I’m not really playing against anyone else. Another giveaway that you’re not playing against real people is that you can wait 15 or more minutes in between taking shots. There’s no way other people are sitting on the other end waiting for 15 minutes to take their next shot. They should make this game more like the billiards games that are out there which have a timer and if you don’t take your shot, you lose your turn. The leaderboards are also bogus as I’ve seen others write in their reviews. I end up at the very top of the leaderboard within minutes while everyone else takes the full four or five days just to reach rank 10 and never actually get through the whole length of ranked 10. For some reason, I am still playing, but it’s really just to max out my gear and then I fully expect to lose complete interest at that point unless they make some major changes.
Pro’s : the game is fun, not hard to learn and you can advance without spending money. I did spend just enough to get rid of ads. You can still watch ads if you want extra money and gems so it’s at your option. They offer little challenges and contests regularly that will get you better gear. It doesn’t take long to have way more in game money then you’ll ever need.
Cons: you get to a point where there is nothing more to accomplish rather quickly. I started playing after I had to have surgery at the end of July and I am the top spot on what looks like a leader board. It makes it look like you’re playing against other players but you’re not really. I’m sure on someone else’s game I’m not at the top. It gets too easy, they have head shot competition and I win every time and it always looks like other players are going to catch up but never do. It’s fun at first then gets boring.
I would like to see some updates, an expansion, new challenges just to keep it interesting. All in all it’s a fun game but you’ll lose interest fairly quick.

Review:
Shadow Archery is a Shooting Gallery Game released on the Wii U in . This game is the follow up to ’s Shadow Archer, and uses much the same premise, but instead of being a Top-Down Arcade-style game, it’s a Shooting Gallery Game. Once again, much as in Shadow Archer, players take the role of the titular archer, who must fend off hordes of spiders and other beasts in a dark forest.

This game uses simple, 8-bit-style pixel art 2D visuals, once again backed by a chiptune rendition of the third movement of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata on repeat. I suppose if you already have the asset, you might as well re-use it, right?
The gameplay here is extremely simple. Spiders wander around the screen and you shoot them, either by aiming a cursor using the Wii remote’s motion control, or by tapping the touchscreen. Each method has its benefits and drawbacks – the touchscreen makes things much easier to aim, but all you need to do to pick up bonuses when using the Wii remote is move the cursor over them as opposed to tapping them on the touchscreen.
Unfortunately, the problem this game has is the same as the problem Shadow Archer had, despite the change in genre – it’s shallow and repetitive. In fact, these issues mat be even worse here, since your character can’t move, enemies spawn en masse even faster, and the damage sponge enemies are difficult to fend off even if you see them approaching.
I applaud the folks behind this game for experimenting and trying something a bit different, but the end result is a game that just is not at all fun. It’s tedious, repetitive, frustrating, and simply not worth your time. Do not get Shadow Archer.
tl;dr – Shadow Archery is a Shooting Gallery Game and follow-up to Shadow Archer where players take the role of the titular archer shooting arrows at spiders in a forest, but this time either using the Wii remote’s motion control or tapping on them using the touchscreen. Unfortunately, the change in genre hasn’t made this gameplay any less tedious, frustrating, or shallow. In fact, if anything, it’s even worse now.
