hi
the 1.6 and 2.0L cross flow head front oil ports are the same. to bolt theses head on to a 2e bottom end is very easy. u need to drill the two front outer head bolt holes to fit the std head bolts. if u have the 2.0L Golf 4 head there are 4 small port just below the exaust port that have to be block off. i used 8mm grub screws to plug the holes. my setup is an 8v turbo using the std dizy cap. it depends what u plan to do u can make good power using the cross flow head.
if u use the std G1 radiator u can use the top water hose from a G2 with aircon top hose. this fits straight on. the bottom hose is the std mk1
i used the std alternator on my golf at first. i now have the alternater system from the mk3 golf all clears with out a problem.
hope this helps

Yup. So absically ifnthe two heads look idnetical except one has ports in front, no funny roolers on the cammside then yes. Crossfit no issues. You will have to drill out the two front bolts to fit the bigger bolts and the water hole need to be welded up a bit and skimmed. You will see the difference.
