Momentary vs Maintaining foot switches: Which one and ...

Just picked up a portable band saw and stand and an auxiliary switch looks like a needed addition. Having read-up on foot switches, I see that there are basically two types: the momentary and the maintaining.

For those with the momentary switch that requires constant foot pressure to keep the saw on, how does that work for you? Is it awkward having your foot on a switch for long cuts? Does having your weight balanced on two feet that are doing different things get wearisome? I like the idea of it shutting off by simply removing your foot. I don't like the idea of having to constantly apply pressure to use the tool.

For those who use a maintaining switch that is push on/push off, do you find yourself hunting for the switch when it's time to turn off the saw? Does it seem awkward that you still have to (perhaps visually) locate the switch prior to pushing it "off" when you're done with your cut?

I'm just trying to re-locate the band saw switch in that it's uber-awkward to reach around and disable the switch holding mechanism while its on the stand. Is there a decided advantage to making that re-located switch a foot switch and if yes, is there a decided advantage to one switch type over the other?

I'm thinking of just mounting a regular toggle switch somewhere on the stand that's easily accessible if I can figure-out where that might be.
