LightWriter with EZCAD: Changing the Fiber Laser Marking Equation

MECCO&#;s launch of its LightWriter&#; with EZCAD series of benchtop fiber laser engravers offers manufacturers a best-of-all-worlds solution: a way to preserve customer files within the EZCAD software ecosystem while upgrading to superior MECCO laser engraver performance, service, and scalability.

The LightWriter with EZCAD Laser Marking Workstations, available in Class IV, 600 and 800 series, allows you to retain existing laser marking job files built with white-label software (MiniLase&#; Pro and Lightburn), and preserve essential parameters (laser power, speed, frequency, and focus settings) to ensure precise and efficient materials marking.

MECCO provides full-service technical support. MECCO stocks compatible components (lasers, scan heads) that allow us to service existing TYKMA MiniLase&#;, Zetalase&#; systems, and other laser marker providers that use EZCAD-based software.

Benefits to Manufacturers of LightWriter with EZCAD

EZCAD remains a popular professional marking software used for fiber laser marking by many manufacturers and businesses. The LightWriter with EZCAD is capable of creating a wide range of marks , such as QR codes and barcodes, and can be used as an independent CAD and graphics processing package. EZCAD's image processing functions, compatibility, and text processing can ensure accurate engraving results, even for detailed, high-resolution graphics.

MECCO&#;s LightWriter with EZCAD allows manufacturers to configure the settings based on the material and the desired marking depth. This includes adjusting the focal length and position of the laser beam, as well as the power levels and speed. Correctly configuring these settings can enhance the overall accuracy of the process.

Fiber laser marking technology such as MECCO&#;s LightWriter with EZCAD excels in marking non-organic materials like metal or plastic in applications that require greater contrast in your mark.

Safety reminder: fiber lasers, at 1 micron wavelength, must be in a separate room or enclosure with doors and must also follow the CDRH (Center for Devices and Radiological Health) safety considerations to make sure anyone working around it is safe.

EZCAD Software FAQ:

1.Is LightBurn better than EZCAD?

LightBurn is designed to be user-friendly and accessible to users of all skill levels. While it does offer a good level of customizability, it may not have as many advanced options as EZCAD.

2.How does Fiber laser engraving software work?

With the right Fiber laser marking software, users can create designs, configure them to communicate with their machines, and apply the appropriate Fiber laser power settings.Fiber Laser engraving software operates as an essential intermediary between the user&#;s imagination and their engraving machines.

3.What is the best Fiber laser engraving file?

The best file formats for laser engraving are vector files such as:

  1. SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics): Ideal for maintaining high quality at any size.
  2. AI (Adobe Illustrator): Commonly used by professionals for detailed and scalable designs.
  3. DXF (Drawing Exchange Format): Widely supported in CAD and laser cutting software.

These formats ensure precise and clean engravings, as they use mathematical formulas to create shapes and lines, making them highly scalable without loss of quality. For images, high-resolution PNGs or BMPs are preferred for engraving detailed pictures.
