Their stability is achieved by their structure: Unlike woven fabrics and rectangular scrims, BAFA®-laid scrims consist of diagonally crossed threads. They are fixed with binders at the crossing points. Depending on the number of longitudinal and diagonal threads a more or less open rhombic structure is created. This provides a higher tensile strength in six directions.

The special features of BAFA®-laid scrims are not only the versatile applications, but their variable structures and different materials. In this respect BAFA®-laid scrims can be made of natural fibres, such as cotton, flax or jute and man-made fibres, such as polyamide, glass, viscose, carbon or any other.
Almost every yarn, natural or man-made fibres, is suitable for laid scrims.
Regarding the impregnation of BAFA®-laid scrims, we conform to the requirements of our customers. Whether waterresistant or flameretardant, whether recyclable or decomposable, almost every characteristic can be obtained.
Also in small batch sizes. With regard to the application we choose the suitable material, the indicated construction and density of the unique BAFA®-laid scrim. For an ideal result!
With all the options that we offer we are probably the most specialized laid scrims manufacturer.

Sizes
Scrim Fabric, White This scrim is sold by the linear yard, either as a prepackaged quantity or by continuous yardage. Prepacks This scrim is available in pre-cut lengths that measure one yard (#246-A, folded package), three yards (#246-B, folded package), and five yards (#246-C, folded package). Each is packaged and sold separately. For your convenience, these "prepacks" can be purchased in any combination. However, if the length for any one cut of scrim totals 10 yards or more, we suggest you purchase it in continuous, "cut to length" yardage. Continuous, "Cut to Length" Yardage If you know in advance that you intend to purchase 10 yards or more of scrim, it should be ordered in continuous, "cut to length" yardage. In this case, scrim will be cut once according to the total yardage ordered, and customers receive a price-per-yard discount as compared to prepacks. Quantity discounts continue to deepen as the yardage increases for any one cut of scrim.
