Glass rock is often referred to by many different names, but really there are only a couple primary forms. Glass &#;Rock&#; looks more like broken chunks or chips of glass. Glass &#;Pebbles&#; are rounder and smoother, and are often referred to as beans or jelly beans. Both glass rocks and glass pebbles then come in various sizes, from small 1/4&#; - 1/2&#; pieces, up to large 1&#; - 2&#; pieces. Below are some additional explanations of the various glass forms and names.

Glass Rock

Glass rock is the most commonly used name for our products. This product looks like glass chunks, chips or pieces. It is sold in various sizes and can be used for a wide range of applications from landscaping to table decorations. All of this glass is tumbled to eliminate its sharp edges.

Terrazzo Glass

Terrazzo glass is simply glass rock, but generally in the smaller piece sizes. These smaller pieces of glass rock are often used for terrazzo floors, terrazzo tile, terrazzo counters / countertops, etc. This smaller rock is also often used as aquarium gravel.

Glass Pebbles

Glass pebbles are the other common form of glass we provide. This product is rounder and smoother than the typical glass rocks. They have been tumbled longer to give them a natural pebble type appearance. It also is sold in various sizes and can be used for a wide range of applications, including flower vases and other decorative purposes.

Jelly Bean Glass

Jelly bean glass is just another name for the glass pebbles form that we provide. It is sometimes referred to as jelly beans because of the round, smooth, oval appearance of these glass pieces.

Recycled Glass

All of our glass products are recycled glass. It is processed from various glass sources, including glass bottles, industrial and construction glass, car windshields, waste glass from glass manufacturers, etc. Some of our products are simply broken and tumbled, while other products are melted and re-processed. For some applications, using our recycled glass products can allow the architect or client to claim LEED credits and consider their project &#;green.&#;

A 50lb bag of landscape glass rock typically covers 7 square feet with 1&#; depth.  However, we recommend 2&#; depth coverage or 3.5 square feet per 50 lb bag, or 14 lbs per square foot.
