Crimped Wire Mesh | Customised Wire Solution

A crimped wire mesh is a type of woven wire mesh that has a unique design characterised by the crimping or corrugation of the wires used in its construction. This crimping process involves shaping the wires with a series of bends or folds, which creates a wavy or zigzag pattern in the mesh.

Crimped wire meshes are designed in one of the two ways mentioned below:

  • Plain woven or direct woven

&#; This is the manufacturing method where wires automatically take their shape and form during the weaving process.

  • Pre-crimped woven

&#; Individual wire is crimped and shaped prior to the weaving operation. The pre-crimped wire is used for weaving and producing a final product with larger openings up to 8 inches.

WOVEN TYPES of wire mesh - Fratelli Mariani

Type B: Crimped

Single Intermediate Crimp

Crimped with a single intermediate crimp These are produced by weaving drawn wires that are previously crimped by cogwheels that precisely bend the wire. They are called plain mesh when if one weft wire and one warp wire pass through each crimp, whereas they are called intermediate crimp mesh if the wires are interlaced every one, two or multiple crimps. They can be manufactured with square or rectangular meshes depending on the distance between the wires in the two directions and it is possible to use wires with two different types of crimping between the weft and warp wire.
