Heaters are essential appliances for homes and businesses, especially during the cold winter months. With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to choose the right one for your needs. In this article, we'll discuss the most common types of heaters and their advantages and disadvantages to help you make an informed decision.
Convection Heaters
Convection heaters work by circulating air through a heating element, which warms up the air and distributes it around the room. They are generally quiet and can provide even heating in a large area. However, they can take a while to warm up a room and may not be suitable for poorly insulated spaces.
Radiant Heaters
Radiant heaters emit infrared radiation, which heats up objects and people in their vicinity. They are quick to heat up and are ideal for small spaces or for providing spot heating in larger areas. However, they can be noisy and may not be effective in larger areas.
Fan Heaters
Fan heaters blow air over a heating element and distribute warm air around the room. They are affordable and effective for small spaces, but can be noisy and may not provide even heating.

Oil-Filled Heaters
Oil-filled heaters use electricity to heat oil, which then radiates heat into the surrounding air. They are quiet and efficient, and are ideal for heating larger spaces. However, they can take a while to heat up and may not be suitable for poorly insulated areas.
Ceramic Heaters
Ceramic heaters use a ceramic element to produce heat, which is then distributed by a fan. They are energy-efficient and provide even heating, making them ideal for larger spaces. However, they can be noisy and may not be as effective in poorly insulated areas.
When choosing a heater, consider the size of the space you need to heat, the level of insulation, your budget, and your personal preferences. With the right heater, you can stay warm and comfortable all winter long.

We ended up installing what is known as a Chinese Diesel Heater, or CDH, for short. These heaters are sold on Amazon for $150-$200 from various sellers. There isnt a specific brand name, and they all appear to be very similar.
In this post were going to share our brief reasoning for choosing the CDH, the good and bad aspects of the heater, tips and tricks, and if we would recommend this heater! This post is not sponsored so all views are unbiased and based on experience.
