Glass bottles cleaning and sterilizing - BabyCenter Community

Ok, so I'm wracking my brain trying to recall what I did with my children previously.

Outside of washing in the sink with Hot water and baby dish soap. With my son we had plastic advent bottles with the gaskets (oh man forget one of those and leak city) I only recall taking the largest measuring and boiling water in the microwave and setting his nipples and pacifiers in for like 5 mins then air dry?

With my daughter it was the same Boiled glass lifefactory (loved them)
But got wise and pulled out my largest mixing bowel to soak bottles n nipples and washed them then let them dry mostly on a clean towel upside down then another clean kitchen towel sometimes to dry them a bit , mostly put the bottles in our cabinet be they dried pretty well after.

I did boil water in the large measure cup in microwave then placed her nipples in for like 5 mins then used tongs and let dry in a collider in our cabinet on top of a plate. Seemed to work.

But now I'm confused do I just do that? Do I need to santaize the bottles after the first use? Do I need to Invest in a sanatizer (reviews Are all over the place)

I'm not sure how cleaning them in my dishwasher works (like by themselves right but what do you put in to clean?).

Forgive me for sounding silly. I'm just honestly confused.

Side note I used hot water and my hands would get red. My husband was like I'm not sure you
Should be hurting your hands in the process however, I was more concerned her bottles were clean and safe.
Thanks in advance.
